RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan said, given that there have been no substantial new developments on the disinflationary process or on the fiscal outlook since 15 January, it was appropriate for the Reserve Bank to await them and maintain the current interest rate stance. "We have maintained status-quo  on interest rates. However we have taken actions in a numebr of other directions. Many of these are intended to further the growth process and some I intend to enhance stability of the system".
